1. Who we are

Nielou (NEE-loo) is a modeling platform for aspiring models and verified agents. It rests on three pillars: Safety. Openness. Care.

These terms apply to anyone who creates an account on Nielou or uses the platform at nielou.app .

2. Minimum age and parental consent

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Nielou. Accounts for people under 18 are not permitted.

Nielou is an 18+ platform. There is no sign-up for anyone under 18, and age is checked at registration.

This age limit follows Art. 8 GDPR and the German implementation of the digital age of consent.

3. Your promise to the Nielou community

By creating an account, you commit to

• being respectful, honest, and kind toward other members,
• providing truthful information about your identity, age, and experience,
• uploading only photos for which you hold the rights or have explicit permission to use,
• not uploading or sharing sexualized, violent, discriminatory, or unlawful content,
• not harassing, isolating, or pressuring any other person — especially not anyone under the age of majority,
• not opening an account on Nielou to deceive or exploit others.

Breaches of this pledge can result in content being removed, the account being temporarily suspended, or permanently deleted.

4. Our promise to you

Nielou commits to the following toward you:

• No fees from models. Models do not pay Nielou for a profile, visibility, or castings. Anyone who asks you for money is not part of Nielou — please report it to us.
• Verified agents. Before a person can act as an agent on Nielou, we verify their identity and business activity.
• Protection for minors. Profiles of underage models become public only after a parent or legal guardian's consent. Direct messages to minors outside the platform are not supported.
• Photo moderation. Before publication, an automated image moderation system checks every photo against safety rules. Suspicious cases are reviewed manually.
• Anonymous reviews. Models can share their experiences with agents anonymously. The reviewer's personal data is not disclosed.
• Data minimization. We only collect what we actually need. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

5. Your account, your content

Your profile, photos, and texts remain yours. You grant Nielou only the permission to display this content on the platform and in the public-facing areas designated for it, for as long as your account exists.

You can close your account at any time at hello@nielou.app . After closure, your public content is removed; records we are required to keep by law (e.g. audit logs from guardian verifications) are retained for the legally required period.

6. When we suspend an account

Nielou may temporarily restrict or permanently remove an account if:

• false statements about identity or age have been made,
• content violates the Safety Pledge or applicable law,
• a parent or legal guardian withdraws consent for a minor's account,
• another person — particularly a minor — is endangered by the account.

7. Reporting safety concerns

If something on Nielou doesn't fit our Safety Pledge — a suspicious message, a profile that doesn't add up, a request for payment or for a meeting outside the platform — please write to us. Anonymous tips are welcome.

8. Provider, governing law, changes

Until the full Terms & Conditions are published, the statutory provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany apply in addition to these Terms.

We may adjust these terms when functionality or legal requirements change. We will give notice of material changes before they take effect.
